Joomla! 2.5 - Almost Here

Joomla! 2.5 is almost here.
The speed of changes and the quality of software coming from the Joomla! community keeps me in awe for all those years. I started developing solutions using Mambo (Joomla! predecessor) and later Joomla! in the early 2004, and I went from version to version, seeing amazing improvements that each of them brought to the table. While the speed and frequency that those updates show up, can be sometimes overwhelming, keeping the "upgrade" pressure on, the real truth is that even Joomla! 1.0 can be incredibly stable and powerful, running your site for years with no major upkeep. Would I still run a site under Joomla! 1.0 after all those years? Probably not, if it were up to me, but the fact remains that many sites run efficiently without major issues.
Now, as Joomla! 2.5 arrives, I'd be advising my clients to upgrade, if possible, to take full advantage of all the new bells and whistles, and yet I'll be fully confident that all the sites running Joomla! 1.0, 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 continue to function for years to come.
