Despite our own switch from Joomla to WordPress on our site here, I’m very happy to report that Joomla is still going strong as a community and a product and it remains an excellent product to use as a core of a business Web presence.
Currently at version 3.6.22, the codebase is secure, flexible and manageable, which is very important for those of us, who have to run the sites on the day-to-day basis. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have automated updates, simple backups and clear, understandable technical base for your Web development.
Recently, I was able to take over an old project that I had implemented using Joomla a number of years ago, which has fallen into a bit of disrepair. Bringing it back into a usable and secure installation was easy and quick and I’m confident that the current Joomla installation will server the site for many coming years.
